Join Natalie Senger for Yoga Foundations, a three-part series designed to offer beginners clear direction about the basics of both traditional and contemporary alignment and biomechanics of the various classes of yoga postures. This series will allow beginners to learn how to attain correct alignment, how to identify if modifications are necessary, and how to direct both strength and flexibility in each posture to maintain joint integrity. Workshops are offered once a month and limited to 14 students.
The first ~30 minutes of the workshop will consist of a brief lecture to cover the essential anatomy and biomechanics of forward folding and back bending. This will be followed by a 1.5 hour foundations practice that will include periodic breaks for conversation, questions, and teaching points. This will be a unique class setting where students will be allowed the opportunity and time to ask questions throughout the class.
Although this series speaks to the beginner student, it is also an excellent way for the novice yoga practitioner to ask questions and clarify any teachings that may have been unclear or felt inappropriate for their body. Everyone will have the opportunity to learn and refine their skills in the physical practice of yoga.
