Begin Within - Yin and Restorative Workshop featuring the Lotus Wrap (w/ Kara & Cheryl)

Do you experience pain in your hips, back or knees during seated poses? Dealing with issues in your tissues is exhausting, painful and ultimately takes you away from your practice. Come experience the Lotus Wrap and be guided through a variety of postures to comfort your areas of concern and sit pain free for longer in mediation. The Lotus Wrap cocoons the body to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) and gently guides your central nervous system (CNS) into a state of relaxation and renewal. In this workshop we explore both the yin and yang of your tissues; journeying through a blissful meditation to lovely yang style poses and ending in comfort to restore the body with a yin/restorative practice. About Kara:

Kara is a yoga/meditation teacher creator of the Lotus Wrap. Kara began her meditation practice in Merritt, BC during a 10 day silent meditation course in 2010. She then went on to explore Kundalini Yoga and completed her 200 hours yoga training in 2012. Although Kara teaches yoga and meditation, she believes there are many roads to wellness and that we make our best contribution by first healing ourselves. - Begin Within-

About Cheryl:

With 25 years of competitive Sport Karate, Cheryl brings enthusiastic passion to any class she teaches with an internal grounded balance and determined focus. Just as Karate was a way of life for Cheryl then so became the healing practice of doing yoga and teaching the mind, body approach. Certifications include: 200hr Hatha in Anand Praksh, Rishikesh, India and 500hr Yoga Therapy in Hamilton, Ontario, Hot, Yin, Restorative, Chronic Pain Management and Thai Yoga Massage.

How to Prepare for the Workshop? 

Leave home with enough time to arrive 10 – 15 minutes early and get settled in. Eat a light, healthy meal 2 hours in advance, so your food has time to digest. Wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict the breath and bring layers to ensure personal warmth.

What should you bring? 

  • yoga mat (or we have them to borrow at the studio)

  • water bottle

  • paper and pen

  • Lotus Wrap (if you already own one), otherwise they will be available to borrow

  • an open heart and mind
